About Kelcy Eckels
Education/Training: Kelcy Eckels is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. She performed her clinical internship at the Edmond Family Counseling. She thoroughly consults with the Grove Counseling & Psychotherapy group weekly. In addition, she continues to grow clinically by acquiring new knowledge from various therapeutic treatment training seminars and literature. She aspires to a life of continual learning and growing.
Philosophy: Kelcy believes that a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship is essential for helping people open up and overcome obstacles that constantly impair further growth. She believes that her role is to not just help people overcome and live more harmonious with life, but to also help them flourish.
Kelcy’s work is primarily informed and guided by Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Her treatment orientations are integrative and evidence-based.
Professional Experience: Kelcy has clinical experience with outpatient settings as well as school-based settings. She has experience helping teens and adults with anxiety, depression, suicidality, anger management, defiance, impulse control difficulty, emotion regulation issues, manipulation tendencies, and other related issues. She serves as a therapist at The Grove. She is also a therapist within a K-12 school system. Previously, she served as a Counseling Practitioner at the Psychology Clinic at UCO, providing individual, family, couple and group counseling. She served as a Behavioral Rehab Specialist, providing psychoeducation and behavioral interventions for teens, adults, and elderly. She served as a Crisis Advocate with YWCA, providing immediate support for Survivors of Sexual Assault. For two years, she volunteered as a Mental Health Mentor for Teenline, providing support for teens in turmoil. She also served as a Behavioral Tutor, providing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for kids with autism.
Professional Interests: Kelcy has interest in working with women and men, adults, adolescents, on an individual level. Kelcy is passionate about working with people who are struggling so they can start enjoying life again.

Insurance and Fees: Session fees begin at $100 per one hour session. She is in network with both BCBS-OK and Health Choice Insurance.
